Skewed Priorities – Part 3
What do you value more than people?
Believe it or not, Jonah attached more value to a plant that gave him shade than the lives of hundreds of thousands of people living in Nineveh, including the lives of children. He'd received grace, mercy, compassion, patience, love, and forgiveness from God, but he didn't want that for Nineveh. What he wanted for them was judgment and destruction, which he felt was their just desserts. And what happened when God didn't grant him his desires for the inhabitants of the great city? He lost his cool. He became angry at God, and in the process demonstrated just how skewed his priorities were.
