Ecclesiastes – How to be better off – Part 1
King Solomon, or “the Preacher,” which is how he identified himself in the book of Ecclesiastes, in looking at life under the sun, at life apart from God wrote In Ecclesiastes 1:18: For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief. But in Ecclesiastes 7 and 8 he relooked what he’d said and altered his view. The word “wisdom,” appears 14 times in the two chapters, and although Solomon acknowledged that wisdom couldn’t explain all of life’s mysteries, he demonstrated in chapter 7 that it could make three very positive contributions to our lives.
Wisdom can make life better (7: 1-10)
Wisdom helps us see life clearly (7:11-18)
Wisdom helps us face life stronger (7:19-29)
We'll look at the first two contributions this week, and the third on the 3rd of December.
