Last week we took our first look at one of the most famous prophecies of Jesus, Isaiah 53, but did you know that despite what seems to be very clear references to the Messiah, Jewish rabbis teach that it's referring to Israel as a nation? This week, as we consider verse 7-12, "The Servant cut off (vv. 7-9) " & "The Servant satisfied (vv. 10-12)," we'll see why that just isn't possible. And boy will we be challenged by Jesus' example. We're so quick to jump to our own defense when someone wrongs us or treats us unfairly, but that's not how Jesus responded.
