Genesis – Back to the Beginning – Jacob – Part 9
Galatians 6:7 reminds us that we reap what what we sow. That certainly was the case in Jacob's life. He deceived and manipulated, and guess what he got in return? Deception and manipulation at the hands of his uncle and father-in-law, Laban. Maybe, he thought he could get away with his trickery. We're sometimes just like that. We sin, and then for a while at least, nothing happens, so we're tempted to sin again. Little do we realise that Paul didn't use the analogy of farming by accident. You don't sow seed and then reap a harvest immediately. In the same way, it takes time for you to sow to the flesh and reap destruction. That said, sin always has consequences. We have God's guarantee on that, as well as Jacob's experience to prove it.
