What happens when we try to serve God while holding on to the world? What happens when we try to love Him but keep parts of our hearts elsewhere? James pulls no punches. He warns us that divided loyalty is spiritual adultery.

This morning, as we turn to James 4, we’ll see that God is not interested in a casual relationship with us. He’s not looking for weekend visits or half-hearted devotion. He calls us to draw near—to move beyond treating Him as just one part of our lives and instead surrender everything to Him.
