Are you a "Life DIY wannabe"? I suspect that as we sit here this morning, with 2025 just 12 days old, many of you have tried to do life in your own strength and wisdom, and failed miserably. From a spiritual perspective you’ve had a mediocre 2024 at best, and you desperately don’t want to see a repeat performance this year, but you have no idea how to turn things around. After last week’s message in John 10, the one thing we do know is that irrespective of where we stand in our relationship with God, Jesus is key to living life to the fullest. Minimizing His centrality is not merely counterproductive, it’s destructive. This morning I want you to turn with me to another passage in the gospel of John where Jesus not only assures us that we can’t successfully do life on our own, but gives us the key to having a truly fruitful 2025, especially when it comes to our faith.
