What does the Bible say about…those who have never heard?
In this message we're going to deal with the question many apologists, also known as defenders of or contenders for the faith, say is the most common question they encounter: “What about those who have never heard?” Never heard about God, and more specifically, never heard the Gospel, the good news that Jesus Christ, God incarnate, died for their sins, was buried, and rose again. That question is first of all a moral question. It is prompted by a concern by the believer or charge by the sceptic that if God holds everyone to the same standard or requirement when it comes to salvation that he is being unfair, or even worse, unjust. The question also makes an assumption: That there are in fact people who have never heard. When it comes to the Gospel, that’s beyond question. Our LifeStep 4 class points out that as much as 40% of the world’s population hasn’t ever heard the good news of Jesus Christ i.e., they are unreached. Can the same thing however be said when it comes to God? Have these approximately three billion people never heard of God or from Him?
