Hazardous additives – 03 – Galatians 3
The circumcision party was telling the Galatian Christians to accept the Messiah by faith but also to embrace certain keyelements of the Law. Paul wanted them to realise that they didn’t need to, infact that they couldn’t do both. It was like trying to use two operating systems on the same computer at the same time. He’d already told them in Galatians 1 that hewas astonished that they were attempting to do this, but following hisdescription in Galatians 2 of how he dealt with the self-same issue on hissecond visit to Jerusalem and his fiery interaction with Peter in Antioch, hebecomes a lot more direct in Galatians 3. Were the Galatians going to depend onthe way of faith to be in right relationship and good standing with God, or werethey going to rely on the works of the Law? In Galatians 3 Paulmakes five arguments in favour of the former. This Sunday we'll look at those and discover some lessons along the way that Paul wants us to learn and apply. We'd love you to join us as we worship together, but understand that sometimes you just can't get to us.
