If Jesus prayed, shouldn’t you?
If the pioneer and perfecter, or the author and finisher of our faith, the Lord Jesus Christ, prayed, shouldn’t that encourage us to pray? A simple question all of us should ask to those emphasizing the importance of prayer, is “Did, or does Jesus pray?” He most certainly did, and yes, He still does. I can’t tell you exactly how many times He prayed, but I can confirm that He frequently found a quiet place specifically for the purpose of praying. The Bible records no less than twenty-five of His prayers for us. This week, as we ready ourselves for the start of 40 Days of Prayer, we're going to look at six different moments in which Jesus prayed and contemplate the somewhat puzzling question as to why he had to pray at all.
